Deviantart goes bananas, again.

Mon Aug 6, 2007, 2:38 PM
  • Mood: Peaceful
  • Listening to: Duran Duran
  • Reading: Sheer deviantart stupidity
  • Watching: life go by
  • Playing: Dead
  • Eating: Lots of candy
  • Drinking: Sprite, obeying my thirst, y'know...
What's wrong with deviantart?
I don't mean to sound like a hardcore religious guy (which I'm not, really), but this is plain wrong, you'll find why near the bottom.

This thing got a daily deviation "award"
[link]

According to Deviantart's TOS, Section II, Clause 19 Subclause B, the user agrees not to use the service:
"to upload, post, or otherwise transmit any material that is obscene, offensive,
blasphemous, pornographic, unlawful, threatening, menacing, abusive, harmful, an invasion of privacy or publicity rights, defamatory, libelous, vulgar, illegal or otherwise objectionable"

The material is objectionable as it is offensive to any Christian/Catholic and not only the gallery director has ignored this, s/he even went on to praise the material and give it a Daily Deviation award. One thing is that the author expresses his point of view about anything, that's totally respectable, but having Deviantart praise this kind of material, that's unacceptable.

If Deviantart does nothing to correct this, then in the future, it will be ok to post
material that denigrates gay people, black people, latin people, you get the idea. And worse, they won't be able to reprimend it.

Just a thought.
